8-7-26    THOUGHTS

Our Galatians reading parallels the fourth  chapter of Romans.  Romans 4 is about God's  "counting, reckoning and imputing"  to Abraham.  Rom 4:17b  catches the idea with "even God, who gives life to the dead  and calls into being that which does not exist."  It seems the gospel was preached to Abraham.    God's  Good News  has been happening for a long long time!  We of faith are blessed along with Abraham.  

Gal 3:6-9  ESV     just as Abraham "believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness"?  7  Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham.  8  And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, "In you shall all the nations be blessed."  9  So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.

Our Prayer:
Father, Your grace and mercy and love give us eternal hope.  Thank You beyond words.  
Bless us in our faith O God.  Help us to seek holiness with our whole being.  Impute holiness to us that we might  "become partakers of the divine nature,"   Bless our desire to find Your fullness.  In the name of Jesus,   Amen.
